MEET THE AUTHOR

Dharasena Odom

From Brevard County, FL, her story is one of courage and determination, beginning with her enlistment in the United States Army just two months after high school graduation. Deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, she faced enemy fire and endured a traumatic experience of sexual assault. Despite these hardships, she pursued higher education, earning her AA degree and then pursuing her Bachelors in Social Work. Sadly, the tragic murder of her younger brother led her into a downward spiral of substance abuse and profound emotional turmoil, which halted her progress in completing her social work degree. However, through years of therapy and personal growth, she emerged victorious, triumphing over her inner demons and embracing sobriety.

Today, Dharasena dedicates her time to mentoring youth and sharing her message of biblical forgiveness and the transformative power of faith. Through her uplifting testimonies, she aims to inspire and encourage others on their own Journey 2 Overcome.
